Moody V’s Vision & Ethics! | About My Cloth Menstrual Pad Company

I wanna chat a lil bit about me, about Moody V, and about what running a cloth menstrual pad company means to me. Know that I’m saying this stuff about myself as a business owner to be clear in my intentions so that y’all can make informed decisions about your patronage to Moody V. I’m not trying to talk myself up, I just believe in these ethical approaches to running a business and I myself would want to see more companies being more inclusive and transparent.

First of all, hi. I’m Kay! I’m the maker behind Moody V. For me, “maker” is a super loaded word. It means padmaker, content creator, website designer, product photographer, advertiser, market vendor, and shipper. I might even be missing some stuff, haha! As of right now, running Moody V is a one-human show! I love it. I love it!

An important thing I want to share about me is that I identify as nonbinary, so I feel really connected to the trans and genderqueer people who follow me on instagram and buy products from me. It means a lot to me that Moody V represents a non-gendered menstrual product. When I refer to the products Moody V sells, I prefer to steer clear of words like “feminine hygiene product” or “for women”, as I want Moody V to be inclusive for all.

I also care about making Moody V’s website and instagram accessible. You may notice at the bottom of every instagram post or product page on moodyv.com, there’s an image description. This is for people who use text-to-speech software and blind people. If I post a video, there will be captions for Deaf and hard of hearing people. If I ever mess this up, I would love to be notified so I can make my platforms more accessible.
